Shikoku, an island off Japan’ s center and my home ground which has a 1200 years old of historical journey path over 1400 kilometers, connecting 88 sacred Buddhist grounds. People comes this island over the ocean for purify the soul or give hopes for someone who you love. It is known as Henro: the buddhism pilgrimage for Following in the footsteps of monk of Kukai. 88 is also the number of earthly desires that can be eliminated through ascetic training. I visited these sacred ground one by one by for each of my desires by walking as same as doing meditating. And I felt my sins and my worries were relieved. I feel there are lots of people’s feelings are remained in the path. Also I may think of life and death. We may understand life itself as a pilgrimage’s journey.

Kukai : He is one of Japanese monk in 774–835. The founder of Shingon (one of Buddhism), founder of Mt. Koya.
